Omaha
Pet Sitters Association (OPSA) is a not for profit
association of pet sitting business owners dedicated to the
welfare of all animals and raising the standards of the pet
sitting industry through example, education and cooperation
throughout the Midlands.
All of
our members are required to have liability insurance and to
collect sales tax as required by the state of Nebraska. Our
members have a wide variety of knowledge and experience in
animal care.
Our membership includes dog walkers and pet sitters who
perform a variety of helpful services to suit your
needs; including sitters that travel to your home to
care for your pets and ones that bring your loved ones
into their homes while you are away.
Pet sitters provide
care for a variety of pets not only dogs and cats; but
also exotics, pocket pets, horses, livestock, etc. Some of our
members specialize (e.g. "cats only" sitters). Check with
your chosen sitter to see if they can meet your needs.
By hiring a OPSA member
to provide you with your pet care needs, you are insuring
that you are hiring a reputable company whose main concerns
are for the well-being of your pets. OPSA screens all of its
applicants to make sure they have current liability
insurance and proper business documentation. Documentation is
checked annually to make sure the members have kept their
insurance information up-to-date. All OPSA members must also
be in good standing with the Better Business Bureau. OPSA
will handle any complaints about members of the
organization, so you can be assured that your experience
with a OPSA member will be worry free!

Thanks! There were
three of us there this morning (Wed. May
5th): John Buttner, Heather (from Pet
Playmates) and myself, plus Heather's
little boy. Actually, it was nice to
talk with just a handful like that,
discussing some situational things,
websites, and most effective ways
to advertise. I was pleased someone
showed up besides me! I took my
newspaper with me, in case I was alone
and needed to kill time. lol

- Disclaimer:
- Omaha Pet Sitters
Association (OPSA) provides a pet sitter
locator service as a courtesy to the general
public as well as a benefit for our members.
OPSA assumes no liability for any business
practices of any of its' members. OPSA does,
however, require that all members be insured
and adhere to the codes of ethics set out by
the two national pet sitter associations,
PSI and NAPPS. While we expect and encourage
our members to provide excellent, caring,
honest service that elevates the credibility
of the pet sitting industry, OPSA has no
authority or control over individual member
companies. We do encourage each pet parent
to carefully interview and check references
of any of any prospective pet sitter and to
make very clear to the sitter the pet
parent's expectations.
